Becky Alexander, President, called the meeting to order at 7:35PM

MINUTES REVIEW
The minutes of the November meeting were reviewed.
MOTION to accept November minutes as amended made by Becky Cummings, seconded by Scott Chesney. No objections.
FINANCIAL REPORT: Becky Cummings provided a financial report.
OLD BUSINESS
- Bibs: Sample of bib was shown, purchased 40, Trademark to do embroidery of logos from sponsors: 49er Feed/Eagle, Pleasant Valley Store, and Lead Dog Supplies.
- Tune-Up: Trail management and coordination by Aliy Zirkle and Rattles was successful. Comments from new members were that it was well organized and an overall nice event. The first Ski-Jor class had no major problems; racers suggested distances be confirmed before start, need to add rule regarding “loose” dogs.
STANDING COMMITTEES REPORT
- Sponsorship: Reported two new business/sponsor members AK/J Architecture and Dr. Meinert of Germany.
- Race/Rules: Waiting.
- Trail: Waiting for snow.
- Junior: Gidget Hagan reported that the finish banquet will not be a catered affair; order from select “limited” menu, TRDMA will purchase meals for drivers, marshal, and judges meals, to avoid over commitment to restaurant.
- Public Relations: Rod Boyce did an excellent job of reporting on the Tune-Up for the News-Miner.
NEW BUSINESS
- Solstice: Deadline for a cancellation decision due to unsafe trail conditions, is December 10 at Noon. Notices to be sent via email, newspaper announcement, and websites.
- Website: Under construction - members were encouraged to visit and give feedback.
- Junior 100: January 21, ads in Anchorage and Fairbanks newspapers, Donna Greenslade to post flyers.
- Hamburger Run: February 18, will add Ski-Jor class, Janet Smith to poll ski-jor club on mileage preference.
- Yukon Quest: February 11, Becky Alexander reminded the members that volunteer spots are filling up fast, sign up quickly to get the best shifts.
- Two Rivers Public Meeting: DNR Trail Meeting at Two Rivers Elementary School, 12/13/05 at 7 pm.
- Trail Grooming Contract: DNR is putting out an RFP for trail maintenance.
Meeting adjourned at 8:30pm, next meeting will be on January 3, 2006.

MINUTES REVIEW
The minutes of the October meeting were reviewed. MOTION to accept October minutes as written made by Scott Chesney, seconded by Megan Hedgecoke. No objections.
FINANCIAL REPORT: Becky Cummings provided a financial report.
OLD BUSINESS
- Bibs: Becky Alexander reported that three of each color are missing from number 23 down. Tune-Up will use from 40-23.
- Patches - Becky Alexander reported that the patches have arrived. Val Mackler and Becky Alexander will distribute them with a t-shirt to the sponsors from last year.
- Symposium - Donna Greenslade reported that 10 t-shirts were sold, 8 memberships renewed, 3 new members, and 3 new volunteers; and that she had plenty of great volunteers for booth coverage. Becky Alexander gave kudos to the Junior Committee for their presentation; it was a good mix of presenters. Julie Hedgecoke has purchased a CD of the Junior presentation and will make it available to TRDMA for public service announcements.
- Membership - Becky Alexander reported that we now have one new member from out of state, Washington; Taiga signed up as a business sponsor; and received a donation from Randy and D’Ann Chappel along with a nice note.
STANDING COMMITTEES REPORT
- Sponsorship: Val Mackler reported that Flint Hills said that TRDMA does not meet their requirements for sponsorship. Val also reported that she has discussed sponsorship options with 49er Feed’s new owner, Scott Faulkner, he will provide gift certificates/coupons similar to last year, he is also willing to help sponsor a portion of the new bib cost. Art Stoller offered to follow-up with Scott, it was proposed to ask other Two Rivers businesses to meet 49er Feed’s offer.
- Race/Rules: Waiting.
- Trail: Becky Alexander reported that Mike Green on vacation through end of November; he wanted to remind the work party that work still needs to be done on lower part of connecter trail after freeze-up. Scott Chesney will arrange a work party and will get information to Donna to get out to the membership via email.
- Junior: Julie Hedgecoke reported that Abbie West has agreed to be the race marshal for the Junior 100. They have decided to have the clinic next summer.
- Snow Machine: Snow machine is at FNSB for tune-up/maintenance, Rattles will followup.
Discussion ensued regarding trail conditions and closures; need to look for alternatives.
NEW BUSINESS
- Tune-Up: Deadline for postponement set to November 15; send announcements via email, revised flyers, and newspaper. Aliy Zirkle reported that she is attempting to bring back the “fun” to the Tune-Up, by offering prizes in other roles besides race placement.
- Solstice: Becky Alexander announced that Rick Armstrong has agreed to be the race marshal for the Solstice 100.
- Newsletter: Becky Alexander mentioned that now that the club has out-of-state members that we should make the newsletter more informative. Gidget Hagan offered to put a Mentor’s List together. Donna Greenslade will send out a request for stories, information, etc. via next newsletter. Bill Greenslade offered to write up story on the Tune-up for the December Newsletter.
- Email List Server through UAF: Scott Chesney asked if the organization would be interested in having an email list server through UAF, general discussion ensued, most in agreement.
Meeting adjourned at 8:30pm, next meeting will be on December 6, 2005.
Val Mackler mentioned that there an organized Neighborhood Watch Meeting is planned for November 10 at 7pm at the Grange Hall.

MINUTES REVIEW:
The minutes of the September meeting were reviewed.
MOTION to accept September minutes as written made by Gidget Hagan, seconded by Mike Green. No objections.
FINANCIAL REPORT:
Becky Cummings reported the checking account balance as $3,480.54.
OLD BUSINESS:
Film Festival – Art Stoller reported that although the event was somewhat disorganized at first that the overall exposure was good for TRDMA. He and Janet sold 3 t-shirts, secured a volunteer, and talked to a future junior musher. Recommended trying it again next year.
STANDING COMMITTEES REPORT:
- Sponsorship: Val Mackler reported that Flint Hills did not receive the email. Val and Becky Alexander to fax to Jeri Wigdahl. Val intends to visit all previous sponsors from last year.
- Race/Rules: Junior race rules are incorrect on the website per Junior Committee. Julie Hedgecoke to get redlines of junior rules to Becky Alexander.
- Junior: Flyers have been posted for the Symposium presentation, along with a fax to all schools. Becky Alexander mentioned that for future reference the “round building” as listed on the flyer should be Civic Center. Speakers for the Symposium presentation will be Julie Hedgecoke, Megan Hedgecoke, Elizabeth Jayne, Bailey Holt, and Ray Redington.
- Trail: Mike Green reported that he attended the community meeting regarding the new trail apparently the main issue is that the trail is not open to 4×4/Jeep, nothing new, cement barriers have been erected at the beginning of the trail. Discussion ensued regarding more trail work being needed. Judy Currier mentioned that about 1 mile past where work was done this summer that there are big trees that need to be removed. Other areas needing attention are the trail from Pleasant Valley Center to 27 mile road crossing needs to be brushed out, willows on Jenny M, etc. Work party to be arranged after freeze-up to work on Jenny M and the Fire Break Trail. Trail committee to work with Donna Greenslade to get message out to members to participate in the work party.
- Symposium: Donna Greenslade reported that she still needs volunteers to man the booth. Scott Chesney to email maps for Solstice and Chatanika races to Donna Greenslade for inclusion in the race packets.
Discussion ensued regarding the routing of the TR 200 Chatanika Challenge race and not ending it on the river in Fairbanks because of break-up conditions. Consensus is to keep trial options open and Mike Green as trail boss to provide a safe and secure route. Race/Rules committed to meet directly after the meeting.
NEW BUSINESS:
- Tune-Up – will have a Ski-Jor class limit 2 dogs / 10 miles.
- Triathlon – Judy Currier reported that a date has set, July 29, 2006 at 10am; contestants will canoe/kayak down Chena, run Tors Trail, then bike to finish at Two Rivers Lodge. Groups are Men/Women 18-50, 50 plus, and teams of 2 or 4. Fee $35/person includes $10/membership fee. Soliciting sponsorship from Two Rivers Lodge.
- Snow Machine Trailer: Jack Studer has been searching for trailer, however, by the time he sees one it’s already sold.
MOTION made by Becky Cummings to allow Jack to spend $1,000 on snow machine trailer.
Seconded by Janet Smith.
Becky Cummings to provide check to Jack for purchase of the trailer.
Meeting adjourned at 8:45pm, next meeting will be on November 1, 2005.
After meeting discussion regarding recent events in which Sandra and Todd Dennick were experiencing with their neighbor. A discussion was held as to setting up a neighborhood watch.

July 30, 2005
MINUTES OF THE MEETING
Becky Alexander, President, called the meeting to order at 1:43 PM
19 members present for meeting, 28+ for picnic & trail stake work party
MINUTES REVIEW: The minutes of the July meeting were reviewed. MOTION to accept July minutes as written made by Becky Cummings, seconded by Tammi Rego. No objections.
FINANCIAL REPORT: Becky Cummings reported that the balance remains the same, Balance $3,604 does not include bills pending and the Valley Funale donations, or cost of meat for picnic.
OLD BUSINESS:
- Trail Drag: Rattles viewed the “trail drag” it is just steel, not necessarily a drag, but Rattles will pickup.
- 501C (3): Discussion ensue regarding the feasibility of achieving 501C (3) status. Consensus is to not reapply to remain as “non-profit” status only.
STANDING COMMITTEES REPORT:
- Sponsorship: Val Mackler reported that we should have an answer from Flint Hills in approximately 2 weeks regarding sponsorship of bibs. Sponsorship packets were ready and passed out to those members requesting them. Val will maintain a list of businesses being contacted.
- Public Relations: Rod Boyce was not present, Becky Alexander spoke with him, and he has indicated that he will stay in contact with Becky Alexander and Donna Greenslade for information to create articles for the newspaper, both for announcing upcoming events and reporting results.
- Race/Rules: Jack Studer was not present; Donna Greenslade contacted Chatanika Lodge regarding the dates of the Chatanika Challenge, Ron’s would prefer to not have it the same weekend of their Outhouse Races, only weekend open to push the date to would be the third weekend in March, discussion ensued — consensus was to push the date out one week. Donna will contact Chatanika Lodge again to confirm their acceptance:

- The Race/Rules committee is to have the rules to Donna Greenslade by September 1 to have incorporated into the packets for the Symposium.
- Trail: Mike Green reported that there are members meeting on Sunday at trailhead behind Two Rivers Elementary School to work on the Fire Lane trail to Flat Top, bring 4-wheelers, saws, shovels, etc. Mike has also met with Bruce Wright to discuss trail options to avoid sinkholes, which will lead to a crossing at 18 mile. The group is working on possibility of running Chatanika Challenge direct from Chatanika to Angel Creek without crossing the road. More details to follow.
- Junior: Megan and Julie Hedgecoke reported that the group has met with Gidget Hagan to discuss Junior 100 race and is working on the Symposium display and presentation. They plan to have special Junior Race Packets available for the symposium which will include the Entry form, Parental Release (member form), and Request to Increase Dog Team size, bylaws, race rules, etc. May coordinate with Jr ADMA, Quest, and Iditarod groups for Symposium presentation. Preparing information for High School newsletters.
- Symposium: Donna Greenslade reported that she is working on the race packets, and will put together a Membership Packet with contact numbers, board member list, and other pertinent race information. Plans to spruce up the booth with photos and slide show (from Scott Chesney). Val Mackler and Maureen English volunteered to help in staffing the booth if needed.
NEW BUSINESS:
- Far North Conservation Film Festival: Becky Alexander reported that the Far North Conservation club has invited TRDMA to have a booth at this festival in September 23rd – 24th. Scott Chesney offered to build a slide show. Art Stoller volunteered to coordinate the setup and operating of this booth.
- Musher Education: Judy Currier brought the idea of the club providing an event to get information to potential mushers on kennel standards, etc. i.e. kennel tours. The junior committee is already working on this from a “clinic�? perspective to happen after the Symposium. This event will be open to all ages.
The meeting was adjourned at 2:30 pm.
The next meeting will be September 6, 2005 at 7:30 pm at Pleasant Valley Store.
