MINUTES OF THE MEETING
Scott Chesney, President, called the meeting to order at 7:30 PM, following presentation by Ronnie Rosenberg from
Animal Control Commission along with Cathy Crisman an officer with Animal Control.
19 members present
MINUTES REVIEW: Review of the December minutes was passed due to short time frame.
FINANCIAL REPORT: No financial report presented.
STANDING COMMITTEES REPORT:
- Sponsorship: Val Mackler reported that we have received monetary donations from Gene Duval ($500 replacement) and Taiga ($250), and Dr. Mienert ($100).
- Public Relations: No report.
- Trail: Mike Green reported that there will be a trail work party for trail between PVS and Angel Creek, starting on Sunday at 10am. Scott Chesney, Swanny, and Dennis Alexander will participate.
OLD BUSINESS:
- Hamburger Run: Val Mackler announced that Leroy Shank will be the Race Marshall again this year. Val and Donna reported that the run format will be similar to last year. Judy Cooper will do road crossing.
- Yukon Quest Checkpoint Update: Donna reported that the schedule had been posted on the website and is still looking for volunteers, particularly during the day. Also reported, that she is trying to schedule a dry-run the weekend or 2 before. More details to follow. Donna is attending a couple volunteer booth set-ups for the Quest to round-up more volunteers.
- Sled Raffle: Becky Cummings reported that tickets were ordered, but are not ready quite yet. Price is $5 one, or 5 for $20.
NEW BUSINESS:
- Pleasant Valley - Angel Creek Trail: Discussion regarding trail condition, particularly around HIPAAS and River Loop areas..
- DNR – Forestry Timber Sale, Big Bend: Scott Chesney reported that there is advertisement for a timber sale in our area, send letters.
- Outdoor Recreation and Trails Advisory Board: Scott Chesney announced that there is an open position on the Outdoor Recreation and Trails Advisory Board, Mike Green was urged to apply for the position.
